Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for potential Senior Technical Specialists for an anticipated USAID funded opportunity in Malawi. The program aims to promote sustainable forest management of selected landscapes and promote development and adoption of urban energy solutions in order to increase forest cover, promote land-based emissions reductions, and support livelihoods.
Area of Specialization Sought:
* Market based Urban Energy solutions (LPG; improved charcoal cookstoves; institutional options, including biogas)
* Low Emission Land Use Specialist (Forest Governance and Management, natural resource-based enterprises, agricultural intensification)
* Non-Timber Forest Products Value-chain Development
* Private Sector Engagement and Financing
* Product and Market Development (experience with agricultural and natural resource products and markets)
* Social Marketing/Behavior Change Communications
* Regulation and Enforcement (judiciary, police, forestry)
* Organizational Development/ Institutional Strengthening
Qualifications:
* Advanced degree in a specific (solicited) area of specialization
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in the development sector providing assistance on large donor-funded projects
* Demonstrated experience providing technical input and/or advisory services in designated area of specialization, experience delivering services in Malawi
* Fluency in English and Chichewa;
* Qualified Malawian nationals are highly encouraged to apply
