On 21 and 22 March 2016, Mulanje Energy Generation Authority (MEGA) featured on BBC World Service programme Newsday, which came live from Bondo.
According to Andrew Smart , Head of Communications, the broadcast was from a school in a village in Mulanje without access to electricity. There were about 10 pieces of 3-5 minutes between 5am – 8.30am (GMT). They explored the problems in a village area without access to electricity, speaking to a teacher, medical officer and individuals There were also interviews from the current and former Energy Minister.
