Electricity Supply Commission of Malawi (Escom)has moved in to improve its customer service by training 300 of its staff.
Escom regional manager (South) Gilbert Chodzaza said this on Friday in Blantyre during the closing of three-day customer service training by Sycamore Consult.
He said: “This training is important because Escom would like to change its image as we have been receiving complains from our customers on customer care”
Chodzaza said they expect training will help customers to be served better, among others, on follow up on faults and new connections.
Sycamore managing director Audrey Mwala said Escom should not take their customers for granted.
“The customer is the biggest boss of any organization because they can fire the entire organization by deciding to go elsewhere, leading the organization to collapse “she said.
