A local non-governmental organisation Seed Malawi says the drafting of Vision 2063 presents an opportunity to consider climate-smart and inclusive economic growth targets.
Speaking in Lilongwe during the Seed Policy Brief Dissemination on Friday, the firm’s national coordinator Tione Kaonga said long-term growth agenda as outlined in Vision 2063 should seriously be transformative.
He said Kaonga: “Providing access to finance and stimulating public-private partnership around clean energy eco-inclusive enterprises is critical to reach energy starved populations”.
Ministry of Industry and Trade deputy director of trade (microfinance institutions and small and medium enterprises) George Mwase said government has several interventions to support micro, small and medium enterprises working on environmental sustainability businesses.
Seed Malawi was founded at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa as a global partnership for action on sustainable development and the green economy.
The organisation works directly with growing enterprises and aspiring entrepreneurs through various programmes to strategise, optimise and award achievements in eco-inclusive entrepreneurship.
