The Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training (TEVET) Authority will offer the opportunity for an apprenticeship in solar photovoltaic starting in January 2019. The trainees could achieve the qualifications Malawi TEVET Foundation Certificate, Intermediate Certificate and Advanced Certificate. ANNOUNCEMENT

2019 TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

The Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training (TEVET) Authority wishes to inform the general public that in continuing with the provision of training in the Formal Apprenticeship Programme through public and private technical colleges; an opportunity has now arisen to recruit trainees.

These trainees are to fill 1,885 available spaces in various trades as detailed in the table below, for the 2019 Academic Year (Level 1) which commences in January 2019.

The training programmes in the various trades (occupations) have a maximum duration of 4 years within which the qualifications listed below could be achieved.

1. Malawi TEVET Foundation Certificate-(Level 1)

2. Malawi TEVET Intermediate Certificate-(Level 2)

3. Malawi TEVET Advanced Certificate-(Level 3)

4. Malawi TEVET Technician Diploma-(Level 4)

Bricklaying Painting & Decoration
Carpentry & Joinery Plumbing

Fabrication & Welding Tailoring and Fashion Design
Food Production Vehicle Body Repairing and Refinishing
General Fitting Wood Work Machining
Horticulture Information & Communication Technology
Malawi TEVET Technician Diploma- Level 4
Automobile Mechanics

Note must be taken that some of the occupations are offered on self-boarding basis.

 

All applicants must have the requirements listed below:

1. Should be Male or Female, aged 16 years and above.

2. Should possess a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent.

3. MSCE Credit passes in English, Mathematics and Physical Science present an added advantage.

Those interested must complete a free application form, available at TEVET Regional Service Centres in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre, offices of District Education Managers (DEMs), Teacher Development Centre (TDCs), District Assembly Offices, Labour offices, ACEM Religious institutions, NICE Offices, and respective technical colleges. Applicants must also attach a copy of their MSCE or notification of results to their application form. Applicants should submit their applications to Regional TEVET Service Centres, using the following respective addresses.
