Corruption affecting natural resources management

CORRUPTION among forest officials is one of the major contributing factors to deforestation in most forest reserves, experts have said. Training Support for Partners (TSP) Programs Manager, Hastings Chamatwa, said there is need to fight corruption among forest officials to reduce deforestation. “There have been many reports of corruption among forest officials related to forest products like timber production and chacoal burning,” he said.
